Sarada Jnanasudha

Sarada Jnanasudha is a written quiz competition held by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama , Mysore once in a year for students of all schools all over Karnataka. The first competition in 2004 was based on a small book on Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi to commemorate her 150th birthday. The second year, 2005 the competition was held on the theme of Swami Vivekananda and in the year 2006, the theme was on Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. This wonderful program has enthused large number of teachers and students and also, more importantly, most of the parents to become a household word among the student community. In all these three years, the total number of students who have participated amount to nearly 200,000 from about 900 schools covering practically all the districts of Karnataka. Besides top prizes to the top three winners each in three categories, the best 5% of competitors from every school get special prizes. This competition will continue in 2008 also. The Jnana Vahini program, its coordinators and participants have been a major source of inspiration to spread information about Sarada Jnana Sudha.

Sarada Jnanasudha 2016

The annual prize distribution programme of the “Sharada Jnanasudha 2016- Quiz Competition”,  conducted by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, was held in the Ashrama Auditorium on the 31st December, 2016 evening. Pujya Swami Atmajnanandaji, President of the Ashrama and Pujya Swami Yukteshanandaji, Correspondent of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, participated and distributed prizes to the winners.

The participants responded to the written questionnaire comprising of various topics, such as messages of the Holy Trio, Personality Development, meditation and mind concentration, religion, nation building etc., This year’s contest focused also on the subject “Nivedita- and her life message” as documented in a book by the same title.

Around 30000 students from about 330 schools, colleges and other educational institutions from the length and breadth of the State of Karnataka, participated in the programme. Over 7,45,000 students have taken part in this programme, held annually throughout the state, for the past 13 years, cumulatively.
